for the purpose of the project

As a group, we've decided to create a new Instagram profile.
Some backstory. As we were discussing with the band our ideas for the social media and the project as a whole, they told us to run their social media, which it was not a bad idea at all. I actually liked the idea, it would be a win-win, they would improve their social media, and we will use that as work experience, and well, the whole Cambridge portfolio project. However, there were some backlashes with that. For the project, we need way more things than what it may be happening for the band at the moment; thus, we will be creating more content than the reality for the band. Because of this, we decided that we will create a second account, @________plutotheband.

On the second account, we will create far more content than for the band. Tour dates, presentations, merch, and more stuff like that. In addition to that, we will still post the band-related actual content, which eventually will be transferred over to the actual band's account so they can use it to keep and grow the engagement that they receive.

In my honest opinion, this is the best idea that we could have come up with. It benefits both parties, us as Cambridge students doing the portfolio project, and them as a band who is trying to grow.

some thoughts

While I was bored I thought to myself I should check the band we are working with. So I did it. The first impression that I had was the logo. That logo is so cool. From the combination of the color to the font. I really think that the logo is so well created. Shoutout to the one who made it. As for Instagram as a whole, and I don't want to sound like a bad critic, I some lacks on the Instagram profile. First of all, there is nowhere where you can hear the band performing with good audio, in fact, there is just one video where you can listen to the band performing. Something else that I noticed was that I noticed is that the highlights for the Instagram stories are very non-informative about the band itself. I think that highlights should showcase a bit more of the band itself or its members. Another point is that in the bio, instead of just having the usernames of the members, it should have the band motif if they have one, or something else related to the band. Something that I could see that I really liked is how they have the posts. They all have the same aesthetic which I think really helps with the brand creation of the band; however, I would make the colors for the posts to be alike in order to be more eye-pleasing.

That is it for the day. okay bye.

good news

So we "sealed" the contract with Pluto, the band for our project. They agreed to work with us on the project. Shoutout to Lander for talking to them😎. So far we've had some talks with them just to get them to know a little as well as knowing the band and its background. Additionally, we've already talked about some ideas that they want to have for the music video itself.

The members of Pluto, as previously said, gave us some ideas that they had for the music video. The main thing they told us for the video is that they wanted it to be centered in the band. Having them as the main focus for the video. As well as this, they want the video to shift over them playing the instruments to showing something that they do not involve music. Another point that they made is that they did not want it to have a storyline, they just want it to be. Also, they want water on the video, which I think might be something that I will be having fun with. Throwing buckets of water to people is very funny. Moreover, they sent us some of the inspiration that they have, which is based on Maneskin, Papa Roach, and Nothing But Thieves.

Now that I have some idea of what the band wants, I'm getting more excited to work on this project with them. I feel that this will turn out very very good and I will be enjoying it.

That is it for the day. okay bye.

portfolio project 😡‍πŸ’« 😡‍πŸ’« 😡‍πŸ’«

It is that time of the year again, we have to start our portfolio project. For A level we have to choose between a short film, a music video, two trailers, or a documentary if I'm not wrong. The project obviously has more things behind those things, but those are the main components of the choices. I decided to pair with Ana and Lander, and we decided to do the music video pack.

As of today, we don't have a band to work with; however, Lander has some local bands in mind. Out of the ones that Lander showed us, Pluto is the one which I liked the most. They are a rock band. They seem pretty cool and their music is very solid. Even though right now are just focusing on covers, they announced through social media that they are composing and recording a song. This would perfectly suit the whole portfolio project.

I really hope we will be able to work with Pluto, they genuinely seem so nice and talented. Additionally, I feel this could help them grow as a band and gain more followers as well as engagement.

That's it for the night. okay bye

Looking back at the course

One of the projects I have enjoyed the most was the Halloween challenge. It was so sudden for that day I remember. When we came to class, Stoklosa had us choose groups of three while she was setting some stuff up. After that, she gave each group a word, which I ironically don't remember. The point is that the activity was to plan, film, and edit a two-minute horror trailer in just a class period.

I recall that activity for my group and me to be so funny because we were in a rush. We planned it in like 15 minutes and head off to film. I remember using Ana's phone to record everything as well as using Stoklosa's tripod and redlight.

We filmed around the school and created so many unnecessary shots that it was hilarious. The girls recorded in the bathroom a scene that had to portray Ana acting schizophrenic. The outcome of that scene was actually so good. The editing was where it killed us. We had zero time and it was destroying. Thankfully Stoklosa extended it to 4pm. I had to finish the editing as soon as I got home. The sound part was the hardest do for the editing; I did not know what song to chose. In the end, the outcome was very solid for the time that we had and it was an enjoyable day. 10/10

I decided to take A level

Hi again Cambridge, so as you read, I came back for another year with Stoklosa and media. So far we've made some projects for the class. I don't remember exactly how many; however, I want to talk about the last one that we did, the film distribution project.

To open up, for this project Stoklosa chose our partners randomly, which I thought was interesting. We were assigned to choose from four different stories from the Creative Writing class kids. My group chose the story that was based on Among Us, it was not my favorite to choose, but I stuck with it. As for when we started the project, we decided to approach the story as a comedic sci-fi horror film targeted to people between the ages of 15-35.

The film was decided to be distributed at the LA Sci-Fi & Horror Flim Festival and the Mile High Horror Film Festival as well as in streamings like Tubi, Crackle, Peacock, YouTube, and GoLiive. This as it is these streaming services are targeted to low budget films as well as horror films.

For this project, I was in charge of making the key art. I decided to go for a light towards the characters so I could recreate a backlight in order to just show the shapes of the chacraters and showcase one of them being the impostor without it showing.

THE LAST DANCE: My Creative Reflection

This is my last blog post ever (I think) about the portfolio project with the amazing band we found, Pluto, and my dawgs Ana and Lander. It...
