la mal llamada llamada

Today we did like a follow-up call to catch up to see if everybody was on the same page for the schedule that we originally had planned. For the call, just two members of the band joined as well as our whole group, but that was more than enough for it. The call lasted around 30 minutes and it flowed so well. During the call, we discussed the location, the time, what to bring, and what we were going to do for the video. We decided that we would go to the beach for the location. More specifically Las Olas Beach in Ft. Lauderdale. It was going to be around 4:30 on Sunday. The band told us that they were going to come suited up for their outfits, which remembered me to HIMYM. To close up, it was stated that they were going to do much random stuff for the video as a whole, to which we thought was pretty cool.

that was it for the day. okay bye.

i don't have anything else project related to blog about

Since I really don't know what to blog about, I will be talking about my trip to Gainesville over the first weekend of the break.

The trip started last Friday, the 18th. I had been planning this trip for like a month or so because I really wanted to go meet Gainesville. I was going with a friend and my friend's sister's boyfriend. The plan was to go for like 3 days and stay at my friend's sister's apartment, lucky for us, the plan was perfect. Also, it was the first road trip ever that I was driving. So Friday, I woke up around nine am ready to pack my things and pick up the people that were going with me. We hit the road at around 10:40 am, so it began. The road trip took longer than what we expected, it was around 5 hours because of traffic. I was exhausted.

After we arrive, we took a nap and were ready to go out. Around 9 pm we started to get ready and we were out by 11 pm. The night was pretty cool not gonna lie, the place was a bit rachet, but overall the night was good. The next day, as early as 7:40 am we were up. We were going to the Santa Fe open house. The open house was pretty nice. The college has way too much cool stuff, the ones that I would highlight are definitely the little zoo and the planetarium. After that, we went to take a fattttttt nap in the apartment. Later that day, my friend took me on a tour around Gainesville since it was my first time there. I really liked the place. Then we went to my friend's sister's apartment to watch the new pixar movie, which btw, I hated. That movie was ass. Next day we finally wake up late and did nothing for a while. Following to that, we went to eat at an amazing place called trixies, 10/10. Later on we went to a park at the everglades, it was so nice. I loved it.

The next day, we were dipping. We woke up at 6 am, and ended up leaving around 7:40. The ride was much better that day. Almost no traffic at all. We arrived Weston around 11:30ish.

And yeah, that was my trip to gville. okay bye.

we have a schedule

After we discussed a schedule that could fit us, as a group, we came up with a schedule. The thing is that the members of the band already had plans themselves. Some were going away, some had school because they go to a different school.

That was the original schedule that we had.

After we sent them that schedule, they rejected it for the reasons that I previously mentioned, they decided to send us a calendar of when they could be all available. This was perfect because we would work around that.
Those are the days they are available as a whole.

Based on that, we sent them a new schedule that they accepted and we are basically ready to work with it.

This is the new schedule:

Phone meeting: march 29 at 4pm

Photo Shoot: Sunday April 3rd

VIDEO RECORDING: April Sunday 3rd/ Tuesday 5th

that's it okay bye

el mal llamado concurso

so we basically came up with the idea of making a contest on Instagram in order to gain people for our music video. we thought this could be pretty cool and will bring engagement to the Instagram page. we would announce the contest on our Instagram stories and the steps would be the following:

1- Like the most recent post

2- Follow our account

3- Comment something you love about the band

4- Re-post one of our posts and tag our account

5- DM us with your name and phone number

and that would do it. i really think this is so cool. i've never done a contest before.

okay bye.

we might run into some issues

Okay so I'm leaving to go to Gainesville tomorrow, well, technically today but whatever. The point is that my group will not be in town all at the same time. Ana is going to Las Vegas on Sunday, Lander is going to LA on Wednesday, and I'm leaving today. Meaning that we might not do much for the project during spring break. This sucks because we were having actually good pacing about the project, It's okay, we will be fine.

okay bye

group meetings

So yesterday we had these group meetings in class where we all talked about our projects and gave out each other our ideas and opinions. My group consisted of Biana, Sophia, Rodrigo, Mel, and Isabella C. Throughout the meeting, as we were talking, I realized that my group and I were one of the two groups if I'm not wrong, that was doing the music promo project. Most people in my group chose to do a short film; however, one of them chose the two trailers option.

In my group, I did not get that much time to talk about my projects since we were running out of time in class. However, I explained how my project was going, people seem to like it. I realized that my group and I are pretty ahead of most people in the portfolio project, of course, it's different because of the content but still. My group seemed to like how we were doing with the whole aesthetic of the Instagram page. The color-coding was something that received many complements which is really good because that is something we've put much effort into.

But yeah, overall, most of the feedback about the project was good, the only thing my table group criticized was maybe the lack of footage that we can have of the band performing, but that's kind of it.

okay bye.

some action

So over this past weekend, the band, Pluto, played at this place called Tequila Sunrise. It was a very good performance taking into consideration that there were a lot of people. They know how to deal with the audio and all of that stuff, like the technical parts; therefore, the audio was pretty neat with all of the background noise.

The band sent us a clip that I will be attaching down below here.πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌ

we introduced the band

So we finally introduced the band. We posted the edits that I talked about in my last post and it looks very clean to be honest.

I'm going to be showing how it ended up looking very good.

At the last moment, we had a debate about if we should put a red mark around each of the pictures, but we figured it would be better if we didn't.

That is pretty much for the day guys. peace out.

next week

I am excited to say that we are going to go see the band perform live in the studio. The band is going to Hollywood so they can record their demo and they invited us over to take footage. I'm genuinely thrilled because I know I'm actually going to have a good time knowing how talented these guys are. I'm confident that we will get good footage out of this. Also, this is going to be my first experience ever in a studio. I am totally clueless about how that might be.

Something I want to get out of this is actually getting to know the band members. Ask them questions like where do they meet? what inspired them to make a band? who came up with the idea? what are their plans for the band? how far do they think the band is going to get? and may more questions like this that could be used for future content. Additionally, I would like to get them to know in a more personal way. I think they would be pretty cool people to befriend.

developing the social media

So yesterday in class we decided that we were going to start introducing the band on social media. We are planning on doing it by posting individual pictures of each of the band members with a caption that they come up with.

For the style of the posts, we will have a cutout of the band members with a purple background and a red mark. This, to match the whole aesthetic of the Instagram page. I will be doing the cutouts on photoshop, then I would send them over to Lander for her to put a cool effect she found out that she could create on picsart.

When we get all of the edits for all of the members done, we will post them all at the same time. Also, for the future week, I want to start working on the highlights of the instagram account. They are essential for our final product.

we officially started

Just today, we started to post on our social media. It honestly looks very clean. We decided to start the page with 3 sets of posts where we showcase a set of drums, the band logo, and an animation of people playing instruments. We paired all of the posts by using the same colors of the logo. We used a purple background for all of the posts and for the animations we used a mix of red and white colors. All of this is in order to match the colors of the logo itself.

Additionally, after these introductory postings, we are planning on posting band members' portraits with a purple background so it matches the whole aesthetic of the instagram.

we have a sneak peak

Good news! we have the first look at the band playing and doing its thing. Over the weekend the band gathered together to do a rehearsal of the song. As lucky as we are, they sent us a little clip of how that was going. That was perfect because I wasn't really able to go to the site because I was working, so lucky me.

To be honest, after I heard the clip, I got flabbergasted. I really have never heard the band play up until this point, and I don't regret it. They have such good synchrony when they play the instruments, it's just so good.

THE LAST DANCE: My Creative Reflection

This is my last blog post ever (I think) about the portfolio project with the amazing band we found, Pluto, and my dawgs Ana and Lander. It...
